Facing up completely clean to the eye, under a 10 power loupe you can make out some very faint iridescent needle inclusions. These inclusions give this cobalt spinel a nice glow to it in certain lighting conditions.
The color of this spinel is a very vivid blue which has made up a small percentage of gems mined from this or any area. A truly exceptional collectors gem that is durable enough to wear in a piece of jewelry.
