This spinel weighs 1.15 Carats and is cut into a cushion shape that measures 5.75 x 5.70 x 4.40mm. The color on this spinel is a beautiful cornflower blue which is caused by cobalt as the coloring agent. Not only a good size but an eye clean clarity like this one is extremely rare in nature. This spinel is from early in a fairly recent find of gem quality cobalt spinel near Mahenge Tanzania. A collectors gem that is also very wearable, durable and most importantly beautiful. One of my favorite gems for this very reason!
