This style of this ring is often referred to as a trilogy crown ring which was a very popular style at the turn of the 19th century. It is stamped 18Ct which helps place it to the late 1800s from England. The condition of this ring is remarkable and must have been very rarely worn because the prongs and shank are in perfect condition without any repairs.
In the center of this ring is an unheated antique round Burmese ruby that weighs approximately 1 Carat. It is very symmetrical at 5.53 - 5.54 x 3.13mm which is unusual as most of these older rubies are not cut very well. The color is noted on the GIA Report as red without any modifiers and has an eye clean clarity. The ruby has a fine quality old European brilliant cut diamond off to each side for an estimated 2=0.75 Carats in total. The natural diamonds are VS or better clarity, I color, are extremely well matched, both cut very symmetrically.
The ring has a GIA origin report for the center ruby that states it is from Burma and untreated in any way. A collectable piece of jewelry that is in a wearable condition! Currently a US finger size 8 but sizable.
